Mirror

It is cold outside -

That's what everyone always said.

I feel the change coming

But it is only happening inside my head.

Our mouths move, as do our eyes.

They see, but cannot reach

the real person talking to us

hidden beneath their disguise.

But once they look in the mirror,

in a quiet moment, they look inside.

Everything falls away and the path is free.

There is nothing left we can hide.

Change is always in our hands,

but it's time we think ourselves through.

Because only then can we work together

and finish what we came here to do.
